Jocelyn Hsu
Clinical Social Worker, MSW, BSW, RSW
Nice to meet you here!
I am the counsellor and owner of Gentle Light Counselling. I immigrated from Taiwan in 2009 and have been rooted in Canada ever since. I’m fluent in both English and Mandarin and worked with clients in Taiwan for 3 years and with clients in Toronto for over 11 years (at the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto). I opened my private practice in 2021.
I hold dual Bachelor's degrees in Philosophy (with a focus on Ethics) and Social Work (with a focus on children and families). I also hold a Master's degree with a thesis, focusing on children, adolescents, families, and mental health.
I am a registered social worker in Ontario, Alberta and, Nova Scotia with more than 18 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in clinical settings. Supporting clients as they face different challenges in life has always been my passion.
I believe in the power of talk therapy and the strengths within each individual. I listen and work with you to achieve your goals, helping you regain calmness and happiness in life.
I’m open-minded, non-judgmental, and comfortable with being vulnerable myself. With a gentle and respectful approach, I’m determined to help you sort through your thoughts and provide a safe space for your recovery and healing.
Gentle Light Counselling was built as I believe in the inner power, and the light within everyone. I understand how challenging life could be sometimes , and how that we all need some support. Yes, you and I both!
We all need that gentle light.
